ASIC development
Teknologian tutkimuskeskus VTT is a governmental multidisciplinary expert organization that carries out technical and technoeconomic research and development work.

With around 3000 employees, VTT provides a wide range of technology and applied research services for its clients, private companies, institutions and the public sector. Sensors and instruments research areas have developed numerous silicon sensors produced with MEMS technology which provide incomparable, cost-effective performance. We have been able to utilise VTT's comprehensive expertise in the development of new biosensors for many diagnostic applications and measurements of material quantity and concentration. Biosensors are also manufactured using
MEMS technology.

In the Sensors and wireless devices knowledge center biosensor chemistry research work focuses on the structure-function relationships of molecules at interfaces and the development of in situ methods for solid/liquid interfaces. This research includes transducer and measurement technology, tailoring of layers with various functionalities, immobilization of receptor molecules and synthetic recognition interfaces. The major fields of interest are molecular sensors, surface analysis and materials science. VTT has over 20 years of experience in molecular/biosensor research. Integrated circuits design work has focused on circuits with small power consumption and close to sensors. The areas of application are RF-ID sensors, wireless sensor networks, monitoring and analyzing applications in bioscience and medicine and neuron calculation. In our research we
have focused on analogue and digital electronics with small power consumption and low usage voltage.
